Join the fun...

This progressive series of play sessions are set up with your goals in mind.  Each student will be grouped by Level to best facilitate you on your journey.  This intimate setting will help you to progress at your pace, with individualized homework assigned to help you stay progressive.  Your relationship with your horse will be forever changed, no matter if your goals are to be safe and have fun, or to be competitive in a certain dicipline.  Let Bekah help you accelerate your progress with these intense and focused sessions.  From Level 1 Partnership, learning the language of horses, to breaking down the prey/predator barrier and overcoming opposition reflex.  We'll be adding patterns and purpose with obstacles to help you "win" the 7 games.  For Level 2 and Level 3 students, we will be focusing on playing on longer lines, helping your horse to become a puzzle-solver, and developing your communication to a level of excellence.  Wherever you are in your journey and whatever you need, get positive results and motivate your horses and yourself to achieve your goals in this workshop series with Bekah!

Each session will last three hours, and will be "Savvy Specific" (OnLine or Freestyle). This will allow us to dive into detail, and address specific needs as each session will be limited to 4 and 6 participants. This will allow for lots of individual attention and problem solving.  Dive into the details, take in lots of new inspiration and ideas, then go off to lick and chew! Please be sure to provide specific information about your goals for the clinic, and challenges that you are currently experiencing with your horse on your registration form. This will help ensure that you are placed with the appropriate group, and to assist Bekah with preparing the topics for each session.

These are just a few ideas and topics that we may cover...
  • Learning to Play the 7 Games/ Breaking the Level 1 Barrier (L1 On Line) Learn the dynamics of the ABC’s of the language of horses as developed by Pat Parelli. Sensitize your horse to the things you would like for him to be sensitive to and desensitize him to stimulus that doesn’t need to mean anything.
  • Winning the 7 Games (L2 On Line) We'll improve the quality of your Seven Games, and learn to put them to a purpose, using obstacles. We'll continue to teach you to develop a calmer, braver horse. By understanding the Language of Horses, your dreams and goals can turn into a reality.
  • Preparing For a Safe and Fun Ride (L2 Freestyle) Get your horse in the mood to be your partner. Learn to read when your horse is ready to ride and what to do when he isn’t.
  • Riding with 1 Rein (L2 Freestyle) Gain control of your predator tendencies while learning to get connected to your horse's feet. Are you playing all 7 games from on top of zone 3? This topic is one that folks like to skip because it makes us uncomfortable. But, remember that these skills will be essential to your future success. If you have not mastered them, there will be a hole in your relationship.
  • Rein Positions (L2 Freestyle) Gain a strong foundation on perfect practice with rein positions. Learn and understand when and why to use each. Get your horse’s feet in your hands.
  • Expand your Driving Game (L2/3 On Line) Keep building your relationship and develop your communication skills in all 5 zones. Learn the strategies for starting 1 and 2 rein driving on the ground.
  • Impulsion Programs and Fluidity (L2/3 Freestyle) Use the Parelli Freestyle Patterns to get your horse’s whoa equal to his go as well as learn how to flow with his go. Learn strategies for you and your horse to gain some relaxation in and with motion.
  • Building towards Bridless Riding (L3 Freestyle) How perfect is your practice? Learn to expand your 7 Games and Parelli Patterns to take your riding to the refinement level. Do the simple things with excellence.

Participant Information:
  • Since many of the tools we use are the same, it is recommended that you mark or label your equipment so you'll know which one is yours.
  • Using PNH equipment is strongly suggested but not mandatory.  It is suggested that you purchase your equipment prior to class.  Please support your instructor by purchasing your Parelli Equipment through her "Parelli Shop".
  • Please bring equipment appropriate to the Level class you are participating in.  If you are unsure what equipment to bring, e-mail Bekah at bekah@darkhorseequestrian.com.
  • If you are pregnant and wish to participate, please contact Bekah before registering for any classes at bekah@darkhorseequestrian.com.
  • If Bekah deems a horse to be unsafe to be in a class, she reserves the right to ask the student to no longer participate with that horse.
  • If you plan to stay for the entire day, bring lunch, drinks and a folding chair.
  • Stabling:  Please provide proof of current negative coggins before unloading your horse.  Stabling is available to those that need it.  Saturday only stall is $10 (includes bedding).  For those of you that need to arrive Friday night, overnight stabling is available for $15 (includes bedding).  You are responsible for cleaning your stall and feeding if applicable.  To reserve stabling, please record your stabling needs on the registration form.  For questions, contact Bekah Koutsos at bekah@darkhorseequestrian.com.
